$27M Rec Center Ready for September Groundbreaking
Lindsay and Mike Rosenthal are ready to begin construction on the 59-acre, 90,000-square-foot Junction Athletic Complex, west of Oak Hill, TX. Once complete, the $27-million recreation center will serve residents living along the southern/southwest edge of the Austin metro, including Dripping Springs, South Austin, Lake Travis, Buda and Kyle.
The build will begin in September 2017 at 8921 W. U.S. 290, with completion scheduled for September 2018. The complex will include six indoor basketball courts, four regulation-size grass fields, 12 sand volleyball courts, a two-mile outdoor walking trail and a 50-meter pool. Also included are a weight room, locker room, pro shop and concession area.
“We aim to involve the whole family,” Mike Rosenthal told Community Impact. “We want parents to be able to drop their kids at practice, and instead of being stuck waiting, they can take a class, get some work done or go for a walk.”
