$250M, 14-Acre Life Sciences Campus Takes First Steps in Woburn

Cabot, Cabot & Forbes has filed plans for a 14-acre multi-building life sciences campus in Woburn, MA with an approximate development cost of $250 million.

Cushman & Wakefield represents the project for all life sciences tenant leasing.

216 New Boston will include a 175,000-square-foot multi-story lab and office building as well as a 135,000-square-foot purpose-built manufacturing facility intended for biomanufacturing and Current Good Manufacturing Practices. The property will feature best-in-class research and manufacturing facilities for points in the pharmaceutical development pipeline along with flexible floorplans, high ceilings and customizable cGMP assets.

216 New Boston is located next to Woburn’s Anderson Regional Transportation Center and is accessible through Boston’s North Station. Air travel via Logan Airport is convenient through the Logan Express shuttle service.

The asset will replace an existing set of decades-old industrial uses on the property and is immediately adjacent to 675 to-be-developed housing units.

About Lisa McDuffie

Lisa McDuffie arrives at ConnectCRE via REALTOR® world, where she served for nearly two decades as communications director for one of the nation’s largest REALTOR® organizations. She supported two membership-elected presidents who were commercial real estate practitioners, and managed the communications initiatives of the organization’s commercial special interest group. When not following the latest commercial real estate news, Lisa is zeroed in on her charismatic off-the-track thoroughbred as she makes the transition from an utterly failed racehorse to a lovely show hunter.
