248 New Affordable Apartments Open at Park House

Breaking Ground opened 248 new units of affordable housing for families with children at Park House in the Tremont neighborhood of the Bronx on Oct. 5, 2017.

It’s a big change for Breaking Ground, which has specialized for decades in providing housing for people at risk of homelessness, and created some of the first supportive housing developments. Breaking Ground has begun building for families because of the number of families with children that have fallen into homelessness.

The new family apartments at 4275 Park Ave. include 20 for formerly homeless people, and Breaking Ground will continue to develop new supportive housing.

“We have nearly 1,500 more supportive and affordable apartments planned – homes that will enable lives of dignity and security,” said Brenda Rosen, president & CEO for Breaking Ground.
