$22M Health Facility on Chicago’s West Side Marks Milestone   

Austin HOPE Center, a $22 million, 25,000-square-foot, three-story health and wellness facility at 5036 W. Chicago Ave., recently celebrated the property’s beam raising.

The building will offer pediatric specialty and behavioral health care service,s and it is expected to be completed in late summer 2026. The HOPE Center is being developed through a partnership of the Austin community, Chicago Neighborhood Initiatives, Lurie Children’s Hospital, and Stone Community Development Corporation, with support from the City of Chicago and philanthropic partners.

“This project reflects the power of partnership and our commitment to ensuring that health equity isn’t an aspiration—it’s a reality,” said Dr. Tom Shanley, President and CEO, Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.

The project will also feature a full-service Wintrust Bank branch. The facility’s construction is overseen by a locally Black-owned design and construction team, including UJAMAA Construction, Gregory Ramon Design Studio, and TnS Studio.
