$225M Valor Club Focused on Mixed-Use for Veterans

Construction will soon begin on the 200-acre Valor Club, a residential project geared specifically for veterans and their families. The $225 million development, situated on Pecan Valley Drive, five miles southeast of San Antonio, will offer affordable apartments and single-family homes, along with sports facilities, retail and entertainment, a bike trail and nine-hole golf course. Also being offered onsite: Counseling, education and job-training services for transitioning veterans and their families.

“We wanted to ensure our proposed community truly reflected their genuine wants and needs. We left nothing to conjecture – every segment of the development is based on real input and data,” said Valor Club’s Irwin Jay Deutch.

The development hasn’t been without controversy, however. Published reports note that residents of Pecan Valley are fed up, having been promised the development six years ago, with little to show for it.
