A new senior living facility could soon sprout in Hays County.  Atlanta-based JES Development Co. Inc. is targeting San Marcos for its latest development. The project, known as Blanco Basin, would include 200 units and be built on the southern end of the city at 221 E. McCarty Lane off of IH-35.

Plans call for two four-story buildings to be built for the project, totaling 204,000 square feet in all. Details about floor plans and square footage were unavailable.  The project’s estimated cost is $25 million. 

Construction is expected to begin Oct. 1 and complete Dec. 31, 2024. Kansas City-based Rosemann & Associates PC is attached as the design firm. JES has grown from affordable multi-family and senior housing communities to include skilled nursing care and memory care centers, market-rate apartment and loft communities, historic renovations and market rate independent senior living communities.
