200 Linden is the Only Building with MiTek Steel Panels

Construction was recently completed on The Linden, a 97-unit condominium at 200 Linden Ave. in South San Francisco that includes 78 market-rate and 19 affordable units. Centrally located near downtown South San Francisco and the Caltrain station, the eight-story multifamily complex was developed by Hisense Real Estate, constructed by Suffolk and designed by BDE Architecture. The new development demonstrates the demand for public transit and urban living in a post-COVID world.

“Thoughtful residential development, particularly projects which address critical issues like affordability and access to transportation, drive cultural and economic progress in our communities,” said Mike DiNapoli, general manager of Suffolk Northern California.

The building offers a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom floorplans. There is also one garage parking space per residence, with electric vehicle stations along with bike parking and EV bike charging outlets.

200 Linden is the only building in the world to use MiTek cold form steel panels stacked on five levels in a wood-framed structure. MiTek technology has proven so effective that the Suffolk team is considering incorporating it into the design process for Type III construction projects.
