$2.5B Century Plaza Hotel Redo Commences

The $2.5-billion redevelopment of the landmark Century Plaza Hotel is underway and slated to be completed in 2019. Los Angeles-based Woodbridge Capital Partners’ Next Century Partners, LLC plans to revitalize the 50-year-old hotel and develop twin, 46-story towers behind it.

Architectural designs by Pei Cobb Freed & Partners, Gensler and Marmol Radziner will preserve and incorporate the iconic 16-story hotel into a new site plan. Upper floors will be converted into 63 condos, leaving 400 rooms and 93,000 square feet of commercial space.

The two new buildings will include a combined total of 300 condominiums. Designed as Reuleaux triangles, the towers will mimic the iconic Century Plaza Towers across Avenue of the Stars. New open space will be added throughout the property, including plazas, water features and landscaped courtyards.
