$310M Buffalo Bayou lands first apartments

1st Buffalo Bayou Project Nears Completion

The Buffalo Bayou Partnership will soon officially open a mixed-income apartment building and a new pocket park, both of which have been underway for the past two years. The overall project, which is expected to cost $310 million, will run along a 4-mile stretch of Buffalo Bayou from U.S. 59 to the Port of Houston Turning Basin.

The 80-unit building at 733 N. Drennan St. offers one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments to individuals with a range of incomes.

The building’s amenities also include an outdoor play area, a fitness room, a business center, and indoor and outdoor community spaces for events and gatherings.

The other piece of the partnership’s improvement plan that has been completed is the construction of Japhet Creek Park, which will officially open to the public in September.
