19th Century Atlanta Office Building on Auction Block
Downtown Atlanta’s historic W.D. Grant Building is up for auction.
Hilco Global’s real estate group is accepting offers on the 10-story building as part of a bankruptcy sale process. A previous revitalization attempt – which kicked off in January 2023 – would have converted office space into short-term residential rentals. But the project went nowhere, as the investor struggled with funding. No word yet on the auction date.
The building’s interior is already partially gutted. It’s being marketed for its hospitality and mixed-use redevelopment opportunities. It has an area of just under 130,000 square feet.
Completed in 1898, the Grant Building is among the oldest surviving steel-frame high-rises in the Southeast and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
Hilco Global is a multinational financial services holding company. It operates over twenty businesses in five continents and specializes in asset valuation, advisory, monetization capital, and disposition services.
