19-Story Raleigh Landmark to Reopen as Hotel Indigo
The round, 19-story structure on Hillsborough Street will officially reopen as Hotel Indigo Raleigh in October 2026. Following a $36 million renovation, the onetime Holiday Inn will transform into a boutique hotel, designed for both business and leisure travelers. Originally built in 1969, the longtime downtown landmark was acquired by Tidal Real Estate Partners in 2021. The property will be managed by Sage Hospitality Group.
While the building’s exterior will maintain its distinctive look, nearly every aspect of the interior will be renovated and redesigned. The hotel will feature 204 redesigned guest rooms and suites, a ground-floor cafe and gathering space, and modern meeting and hospitality amenities tailored to business and leisure travelers
The hotel is best known for its signature penthouse cocktail lounge and event venue on the 19th floor. The highest hospitality venue in Raleigh, the lounge is designed as a premier destination for private events, celebrations, and social gatherings.
