$18M Hotel Set to Open Within 277-Acre Kansas City MXU Development 

Bluhawk, IHG Hotels & Resorts, and Price Brothers plan to open the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Overland Park South at Bluhawk later this month.

The 99-room, four-story hotel is located at 16101 Shawnee Drive within the dynamic 277-acre Bluhawk development. The $18 million hotel is the first of three planned hotels that will collectively offer 349 rooms.

The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Overland Park South is located adjacent to the 255,000-square-foot, world-class AdventHealth Sports Park at Bluhawk, a $92 million youth multisport complex. A 155,000-square-foot expansion is planned to open in 2027, adding more sports facilities, indoor/outdoor pickleball, mini golf, and interactive sports games.

Construction on the hotel began in April 2025, with Titan Construction serving as general contractor, Hoefer Welker as architect, Olsson Inc. as civil engineer, and Commerce Bank as finance partner.
Price Brothers Management will begin construction on Bluhawk’s second and third hotels following completion of the development’s next retail phase, slated to open in Spring 2027.
