165K-SF Midtown Point Planned on Highlander Hotel Site

Midtown Point, a four-story, 165,000-square-foot office building, will be built at 6200 Middle Fiskville Rd. in Austin. The facility will be built on the current site of the Highlander Hotel, which is now closed, and will be demolished.

The developer, Middle Fiskville Development Ltd., is a joint venture between the Highlander Hotel owners and family of the former Mayor Roy A. Butler. Aquila Commercial will handle leasing and management of the building, which will deliver in 2021.

Midtown Point will be situated on 2.6 acres, adjacent to the new, $122 million City of Austin Planning and Development Center, which is scheduled for a 2020 completion. The project is near the massive Highland Mall/ACC redevelopment. “Within the next three years, there will be a number of new parks, public open spaces, trails, apartment complexes, restaurants and office buildings in the neighborhood—all of which will be in immediate proximity to Midtown Point,” said Aquila Commercial’s Joe Simmons.
