157 Senior Apartments Going Up in Cypress-Fairbanks

157-units of affordable, senior housing are coming to the Cypress-Fairbanks (Cy-Fair) area, outside Houston. First Metropolitan Senior Apartments will be built at 8870 W. Sam Houston Parkway N., Houston, and is expected to open in 2024. The project is expected to cost $43 million to build.

The project is a partnership with Brinshore Development and the Harris County Housing Authority, and it is located on the same property as First Metropolitan Church. Founding pastors John and Evelyn Ogletree included senior housing in the church’s master plan more than 20 years ago.

“Our land has been described as the ‘last miracle on the Beltway,’ and this project shows that God is still performing miracles on our property,” Bishop John Ogletree said.

Of the projects units—85 will be dedicated to low-income seniors to help address the county’s affordable housing needs.

Amenities will include a club room and activity room, media center, private event suite, fitness center, business center and a pool.
