1,500-Unit San Pedro Redevelopment Project Moves Forward

The Department of City Planning in Los Angeles has received an entitlement application for National CORE and Century Housing’s One San Pedro Collaborative, the redevelopment of the 80-year old Rancho San Pedro housing complex near the Port of LA.

It’s the latest step forward for the project which could break ground as early as 2024, according to Urbanize Los Angeles. The plans for the site would more than triple the amount of housing currently available to over 1,500 units, with about 1,000 set aside for households earning no more than moderate-income level.

One San Pedro, designed by SVA architects, TCA architects and City Fabrick, would include a series of multi-story buildings on a 20-acre parcel bordered by Santa Cruz Street, Mesa Street, 3rd Street and Harbor Boulevard. The proposed development would also include green spaces, a pedestrian plaza along Harbor Boulevard and a sports park at 1st and Centre Streets.
