15-Year Lease for Sushi Restaurant

A high-end sushi restaurant chain, Tokyo Ichiban Foods Co. Ltd., has signed a 15-year lease for the first-floor retail space in a new condo tower in Midtown.

Restaurants in New York City often have trouble lasting a few months, much less 15 years. Tokyo Ichiban Foods, based in Japan, will open its new concept restaurant in the 2,300-square-foot space at 325 Lexington Avenue.

“This is an ideal space for a sushi restaurant,” said James Famularo, senior director and principal for Eastern Consolidated, which represented the owner and the tenant. “It’s at the base of 325 Lex, a new, shimmering glass luxury condominium that is so popular all of the units were sold before the project was completed.”

Nearby eateries do a brisk business, with customers waiting on line for over an hour at Chef Masaharu Morimoto’s Momosan Ramen & Sake across the street.
