15-Story Hollywood Office Project Receives City Approval

In a unanimous 12-0 vote, the Los Angeles City Council has approved plans to raze a Staples store on Sunset Boulevard to make room for a new office building development from Millennium Partners and Shorenstein Properties. According to Urbanize LA, the project would consist of a 15-story tower with 431,000 square feet of office space, 12,000 square feet of ground floor retail space and a parking garage.

The development, called Sunset + Wilcox, is being designed by Gensler and would feature a series of setbacks and terraces creating amenity decks for tenant use. Millennium’s Mario Palumbo said in a news release, “Our environmentally sustainable project is conceived to meet the needs of technology, media and entertainment users in a post COVID environment, designed as a vertical campus with generous outdoor space on every level.”

Sunset + Wilcox is just one of several ground-up developments slated for that stretch of Sunset Boulevard including the $1 billion Crossroads Hollywood Complex, a hotel and a residential tower at the former Amoeba Music site.
