1,428-foot Tower Grows at 111 W. 57th

The 1,428-foot tower at 111 W. 57th St. is now almost 16 stories tall — and is about to rise above its landmarked neighbor the Steinway Building. When completed, it will be among the tallest towers in the city, and the most slender skyscraper in the world.

After its planned completion in early 2018, the tower will rise 82 marketed stories over Billionaires’ Row, the stretch of 57th Street between Sixth and Seventh Avenues. Co-developers JDS Development Group and the Property Markets Group are planning luxury condominiums, plus more than 50,000 square feet of retail space on the first four floors.  Residential units will reportedly average over 4,521 square feet.
