14 Acres of Long Beach Industrial Property Sells for $51M

In an increasingly traversed area – especially for cargo containers – a 14-acre site in Long Beach has sold for $50.7 million to an undisclosed buyer, according to a news release.

Plains All American Pipeline, an energy infrastructure owner and operator that provides logistics services for crude oil and natural gas, sold 5900 Cherry Ave.

The Cherry Avenue building, due north of the Port of Long Beach, has some impressive dimensionality:

The property is zoned for general industrial use and could support a 300,000-square-foot industrial building with best-in-class features including 36-foot minimum clear heights, ESFR sprinkler systems, truck courts and excess trailer parking, said Newmark Group Inc., which represented the seller on the transaction.

The Port of Long Beach had a record-setting February: The port moved a total of 796,560 units, with imports increasing 4.4% to 390,335 units and exports declining 1.2% to 117,935 units. Empty containers also grew, by 3.5% to 288,290 units, per the port’s own data.
