$120M Shift Residential Tower Tops Out in East Village

Shift, a 21-story residential tower in downtown San Diego’s East Village neighborhood, topped out. The $120-million project also includes two five-story wood-framed low-rise buildings.

Encompassing 631,000 square feet, the Shift mixed-use community takes up an entire city block at 4th Avenue. Shift’s first phase is slated to open in December 2017, with completion in spring 2018.

The 368-unit apartment project boasts a pool on the rooftop deck and two low-rise residential buildings atop two levels of 19,000 square feet of retail space and parking. Apartments will range from 600-square-foot studios to 1,200-square-foot two-bedroom apartments.

The project team includes LMC (developer), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lennar, Carrier Johnson (architect), and Swinerton (general contractor).
