$120M Gaylord Texan Expansion Underway

Expansion work has begun on Grapevine, TX’s Gaylord Texan Resort. The $120-million project includes the addition of more than 300 new guest rooms and 86,000 square feet of meeting space.

By the time the construction dust clears in 2019, the property will boast a total of 1,811 rooms and 490,000 square feet of meeting space, making it the nation’s second-largest, non-gaming convention center hotel.

The reason for the upgrades and additions? “Increased demand for both rooms and meeting space,” according to owner Ryman Hospitality Properties Inc. Ryman is providing funding from a revolving credit facility.
