12-Story DC Office Building Sells for $27M

An affiliate of Arlington-based real estate investor Taicoon Property Partners has acquired the 152,500-square-foot office building at 1899 L St. NW in downtown DC. The purchase price of $26.65 million represents a significant discount from its prior sale amount of $43.7 million in 2004 and its assessed value of $64.3 million for 2025.

Stream Realty Partners represented the purchaser in the transaction. The building, constructed in 1978, is expected to remain office space under Taicoon’s ownership.

The acquisition follows Taicoon’s purchase of the former national headquarters of the Air & Space Forces Association in Arlington last year, which is now Taicoon’s main office. The association is leasing space there on a short-term basis until it moves to new space at Westpost at National Landing later this year.
