108-Acre East Bay Deep Water Site Acquired, Prepares for Redev
St. Louis, MO-based Commercial Development Company Inc. (CDC) acquired a 108-acre, industrial waterfront site in Antioch, CA from Austin, TX-based Forestar (USA) Real Estate Group. The former paper mill site, which was retired and demolished in 2002, will undergo environmental remediation and be redeveloped as a port-serving industrial facility.
The heavy industrial-zoned site, which is among the largest deep water sites in the East Bay, has a pier on the San Joaquin River to support international shipping, and is expected to attract logistics and industrial users.
CDC’s affiliate, Environmental Liability Transfer, Inc., has assumed responsibility for legacy environmental liabilities. CDC’s EnviroAnalytics Group will oversee ongoing remedial activities.
Lee & Associates’ Craig Hagglund and Drew Fischer represented the buyer and seller.
