102-Year-Old Santa Fe Depot Sold by Prologis

San Francisco-based Prologis, Inc. sold the 102-year-old Santa Fe Depot building in San Diego to Santa Fe Depot, LLC for an undisclosed amount. The transaction marks the first time the asset at 1050 Kettner Blvd. has traded hands. Prologis owned the property by way of a series of mergers of firms dating back to the original Santa Fe Railway company.

The nationally registered historic site includes a two-story, 30,661 square-foot structure situated on 3.78 acres. A local landmark built in 1915 and home to Amtrak’s San Diego Union Station since 1920, it currently serves as an integrated logistics hub.

Voit Real Estate Services’ Kipp Gstettenbauer and Ryan King represented both parties. Voit will oversee all aspects of asset management, and has retained Heritage Architecture & Planning to oversee long-term preservation and restoration of the asset.
