$125M Religious Resort Proposed

The San Diego City Council is reportedly reviewing plans for a proposed Mission Valley religious resort that could transform an 18-acre site into a tourist destination, drawing 400,000 visitors annually. Televangelist Morris Cerullo’s Legacy International Center must also secure capital to help finance the $125 million project.

The organization hopes to break ground later this year, leading to an opening in 2017 or 2018. The themed entertainment park is being envisioned under the guidance of former Disney alums.

The resort would celebrate Cerullo’s more than six decades of evangelical missions and teachings, and also serves as the group’s new headquarters.

Project Facts:
• 17,000-sf Rotunda-style Welcome Center: Cultures of countries
• 30,000-sf History Dome Theater: Biblical museum, 330-seat theater, motion sensory floor and seating
