101-Unit Seniors Housing Rising on Long Island

In June 2018, Benchmark Senior Living will open Whisper Woods, a new assisted living community for seniors in Smithtown, NY, on the north shore of Long Island. The $25 million, three-story Whisper Woods community will include 101 units.

“Demographics are shifting, with the first wave of Baby Boomers entering an age where they are either making assisted-living decisions for their parents, or planning for their own long-term care,” said Kevin McKenna, a vice president at EW Howell Construction Group, which is overseeing the project.
