100K-SF Quincy Shopping Plaza Sold for $42M

The Grossman Companies, Inc. (TGCI) has acquired a shopping plaza at 130-132 Granite St. in Quincy, MA, for $41.5 million. The 100,000-square-foot property, sold by Regency Centers, includes a Star Market and Walgreens and spans 7.1 acres at the intersection of Walter Hannon Parkway and Burgin Parkway.

Anchored by Star Market and Walgreens, this supermarket center holds historical significance for the Grossman family, whose patriarch, Louis Grossman, originally owned the property. Louis founded Grossman’s Lumber, the precursor to modern DIY stores, after immigrating from Poland in the late 1800s.

“This sale reflects the tremendous continuing demand for well-located supermarket properties in metro-Boston,” said Nat Heald, head of CBRE’s New England Retail Investment Sales, who facilitated the sale.
