1000M Developers Celebrate Michigan Ave.’s Future High Point

Co-developers Time Equities Inc. (TEI), JK Equities and Oak Capitals recently hosted a groundbreaking ceremony and reception to celebrate the start of construction for 1000M, their 74-story, 832-foot-tall, ultra-luxury condominium building across from Grant Park. TEI CEO Francis Greenburger thanked Goldman Sachs for leading financing on the $470-million project, and confirmed that it will begin construction in December.

“I have been inspired since the beginning to create ‘true beauty’ in the form of an iconic structure that will take its place as a defining element of the Chicago skyline,” Greenburger said. “Thank you all for believing in this vision and joining me for the ride.”

Designed by a Chicago-based team, architect Helmut Jahn with interiors by Kara Mann, 1000M is slated to be the tallest tower on Michigan Avenue. It will also be Chicago’s largest condo project, in terms of the total number of residences launched (474) in more than a decade.
