1 Hotel Austin to Anchor Texas's Tallest Building

1 Hotel Austin to Anchor Soon-To-Be State’s Tallest Building

1 Hotel Austin is just starting construction at Waller Creek and Lady Bird Lake. The 98 Red River 74-story tower will include office, retail, hotel and apartment residential units with an estimated cost of $520 million. The project is being developed in partnership with Lincoln Property Company and Kairoi Residential.

The hotel will have one particularly unique feature, a lush lagoon of a pool perched at a sky-high level on the 16th floor of the tapering tower. Covered with vine-covered walls and wooden trellises, the viewing deck and water feature offers its guests panoramic views of Austin City Limits and the Waller Creek greenway below.

1 Hotel founder Barry Sternlicht offers up his assessment of the new property, “1 Hotel Austin captures the rich diversity of ingredients and experiences that make our brands’s offering unique.”

The brand currently has hotels in New York City, West Hollywood, Toronto, San Francisco and Sanya (China). 1 Hotel Austin is expected to open in 2026.
