$1 for Prime Site in Harlem
New York City will give developers the vacant lot at 263-267 West 126th Street in Harlem for $1 to build 29 affordable homes. Developers Lemor Realty Corporation and Apex Building Group will also create space for a restaurant and tech incubator company Silicon Harlem.
The 8,492 square-foot lot is one of six sites given to eight teams owned by women or minorities selected by the City to develop a total of 440 homes, all priced to be affordable to New Yorkers earning a variety of income levels.
“This is the first group of developers to take advantage of the City’s expanded resources for Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBEs),” said Jonnel Doris, director of the Mayor’s Office of M/WBEs.
