1.8B-SF San Gorgonio Crossing Industrial Dev Proposed

The draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) is under review for San Gorgonio Crossing, a proposed 1.8-million-square-foot industrial development in Beaumont, CA. The developer TSG Cherry Valley LP, represented by Irvine-based Shopoff Realty Investments L.P., plans for two buildings on the 230-acre Cherry Valley site.

The size and scope of the project has been reduced by nearly one-third from a previous proposal in 2008. Two-thirds of the site is slated to remain as natural or landscaped open space.

Proponents say the project will use as much as 20 times less water, compared to a housing development, create hundreds of jobs and pay for improvements to help solve traffic congestion.

Opponents argue the rural site is not a fit for a warehouse project expected to generate 3,000 truck trips daily. They say it will impact air quality, traffic and scenic views.
