1.5M-SF MXU Village Development Eyed in N. San Jose
Sunnyvale, CA-based Siliconsage Builders wants to build a 1.5-million-square-foot mixed-use project in North San Jose. The village concept envisioned would resemble a mini Santana Row, including a pedestrian-oriented environment featuring retail, restaurants, entertainment, office, hotel and residential.
The 31.5-acre site, which is currently zoned for industrial, is under review for development near the corner of Montague Expressway and Seely Avenue, along Coyote Creek. The proposed development would include 500,000 square feet of retail, 700,000 square feet of office space, a 350-room hotel, a 50,000-square-foot theater, a 30,000-square-foot amphitheater, 3,250 apartment units and 4.5 acres of open space.
Siliconsage Builders’ Sanjeev Acharya told the Mercury-News, “The idea is to make this an experience, a destination. The emphasis for this development will be on the amenities, it will not be on the residential.”
The site is located across the street from Cadence’s San Jose headquarters.
