$1.3B Downtown S.D. Mixed-Use Project Approved
Downtown San Diego has obtained approval to develop a major mixed-use project on the site of the U.S. Navy’s regional headquarters.
The Manchester Pacific Gateway plans to include hotel and office towers, restaurants, retail, a 1.9-acre public park, and even room for a museum. This project will replace buildings that were first constructed in the 1920s and 1930s, city officials reported.
Additionally, there will be 2,400 parking spaces accessible for downtown San Diego visitors to use on the weekends, as Project Manager Perry Dealy quoted there is a “huge demand” for parking in the district.
Work on Manchester Pacific Gateway is set to begin during the first quarter of next year.
