$1.1B Project Proposed for Tres Hermanos Site
Diverse plans emerged for a 2,500-acre cattle ranch that straddles the borders of San Bernardino and LA counties. Three ideas being proposed for the Tres Hermanos property include a $1.1-billion planned community, open space and recreation uses, or a 1,00-acre solar farm.
GH America Inc. and Irvine, CA-based partner, South Coast Communities are proposing 1,881 homes, 18 acres of commercial, and 20 acres of mixed use. The group offered to buy the property for $101 million more than a year ago.
The city, which is reportedly exploring other uses, has owned the land since 1978, although it’s located entirely outside city limits in Diamond Bar and Chino Hills.
The state oversight board in charge of divesting the city’s defunct redevelopment agency holdings requested a formal proposal by Aug. 31.
