Colliers Arranges $71M Sale of Chicago Educational Facility

Colliers announced the $70.6 million sale of a purpose-built educational facility located at 161 W. 9th Street within Chicago’s Roosevelt Collection.

The approximately 102,000-square-foot property is fully occupied by the British International School of Chicago, South Loop, under a long-term absolute net lease. The property was acquired in September of 2026 by W. P. Carey. Representing the seller, EPR Properties, the transaction was facilitated by Colliers’ Education Advisory Services team, including Todd Noel, Mindy Korth, Kyle Campbell and David Burden. Colliers’ Josh McGee, Austin Little, Christian Rahe and Jack Johnson also helped facilitate the transaction.

“The successful sale of this asset reflects continued investor demand for high-quality, mission-critical real estate occupied by best-in-class operators,” said Noel. “Its long-term lease structure, purpose-built design, and affiliation with one of the world’s leading education organizations created a highly compelling investment opportunity.” Completed in 2015, the campus features modern academic, arts, and athletic facilities within a three-story building situated on approximately 2.33 acres.
