Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Opens Largest North American Distribution Center in PA

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals recently celebrated the ribbon-cutting of its new 160,000-square-foot distribution facility in Upper Macungie Township, Pennysylvania, marking the company’s largest distribution center in North America.

Located on a 6.5-acre campus, the facility is the company’s sole U.S. distribution hub. The center’s 45 employees support operations, quality and administration, supporting the shipment of prescription and over-the-counter medicines to 321 locations in 43 states. The India-based company selected the Lehigh Valley site after evaluating 130 properties across multiple states. The Allentown center joins Glenmark’s U.S. headquarters in New Jersey, its manufacturing facility in North Carolina, and Ichnos Glenmark Innovation, the company’s wholly owned biotechnology subsidiary in New York.

Lehigh Valley is home to the U.S. headquarters of B. Braun, Olympus, and Sharp, and to operations of Thermo Fisher Scientific, Piramal Critical Care, and OraSure Technologies. Work recently began on the largest life sciences investment in Pennsylvania history, a $3.5 billion pharmaceutical manufacturing campus by Eli Lilly and Company.
