Skanska Signs Lease at 17xM to Bring DC Office Building to 93% Leased
Skanska announced a new lease with Café Unido at 17xM, filling the final portion of the building’s 13,500 square feet of ground-floor retail in downtown Washington, D.C.
The milestone comes as 17xM’s office space reaches 93% leased overall. Located at 1700 M Street NW in the city’s central business district, 17xM continues to attract tenants seeking a combination of workspace, amenities and a mix of retail and dining options.
“Today’s tenants are making long-term decisions about how their workplaces support collaboration, culture and employee experience,” said Mark Carroll, executive vice president at Skanska USA Commercial Development. “17xM’s leasing momentum reflects a broader shift toward office environments that are adaptable, hospitality-driven and designed to remain competitive over time.”
Café Unido will join Uchi, a Japanese restaurant concept, which is now open at 17xM. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, 17xM is an 11-story trophy office tower. Leasing for the property is being overseen by CBRE’s Randy Harrell, Joe Coleman and Lara Nealon.
