BRIDGE Housing Earns Credit Rating Upgrade from S&P

BRIDGE Housing announced that S&P Global Ratings has upgraded the company’s credit rating to AA from AA-, earning it the highest rating assigned to a nonprofit housing provider. S&P cited “extremely strong” management, financial performance, and debt profile in raising BRIDGE’s issuer credit rating and long-term rating on the company’s outstanding debt to AA, while maintaining a stable outlook.

The credit rating agency noted that BRIDGE remains a “market leader” and expressed confidence in its management team and its ability to execute its 2024-27 strategic plan, which targets adding 5,100 affordable housing units on the West Coast.

“This upgrade reflects BRIDGE’s strong fundamentals and financial discipline as we accelerate our work to create and preserve long-term affordable housing in high-cost West Coast markets,” said BRIDGE Housing president and CEO Ken Lombard. “We appreciate S&P’s confidence in our ability to advance our mission and the support this rating will provide as we continue to pursue market-based finance that doesn’t rely on public subsidies.”
