Manga Hotel Group Acquires Royal Sonesta Chicago River North

Manga Hotel Group announced the acquisition of the Royal Sonesta Chicago River North, a 261-room hotel located in Chicago, Illinois. The hotel has been rebranded as Hotel 505 River North, an independent property which is slated to become the site of another TOOR Hotel.

Located at 505 North State Street in downtown Chicago, the hotel is surrounded by dining, entertainment, shopping and cultural attractions, with convenient access to the Magnificent Mile. Following acquisitions in New York City of the SoHo 54 Hotel last year and The Chelsean New York Hotel in June, this acquisition further expands Manga’s growing portfolio in the United States and marks its entry into the Chicago market.

“We are excited to mark another important milestone in the continued expansion of TOOR Hotel,” says Sukhdev Toor, President and CEO of Manga Hotel Group, “Chicago is an important hospitality market, and this was a strategic move to add another major city to the TOOR brand alongside Toronto and New York City.”
