Target to Replace Movie Theatre at Laveen Retail Center
Target will replace a movie theatre as an anchor tenant at a W. Phoenix retail center. Another supersized store from the retail giant will open at Laveen Park Place. Harkins Theatres was originally slated to anchor the complex but decided not to proceed with one of its multi-screen theatres. Laveen Park Place has several other anchor tenants that are already open, such as Sprout’s Farmers Market, and T.J. Maxx.
Target’s new 140,395-square-foot store will occupy the western half of the 16-acre property. Kitchell Development is behind Laveen Park Place.
Activity at another retail center, Laveen Towne Center, is underway. The 500,000-square-foot shopping center will include retail, dining and entertainment project across 90 acres. Vestar is developing Laveen Park Place.
Laveen has experienced a surge of residential growth since the opening of the Loop 202 freeway there in 2020, connecting the area to the larger Phoenix metro.
