Katy Target to Roll Out new national look

Katy Target to Open Next Month

Developer NewQuest announced that a 148,000-square-foot Target store at Texas Heritage Marketplace will open on October 11. It will be one of many popular outlets in the planned 800,000-square-foot retail center. Newquest says it’s investing over $400 million into the center.

A Lowe’s and Sam’s Club will join Target as anchor tenants.

The Houston Business Journal reports that earlier this year, NewQuest broke ground on the shopping center’s multitenant retail component. It will include 100,021 square feet of junior anchor space, as well as 35,000 square feet of restaurant- and spa- and fitness-related retail, with 5 acres of green space to be called Heritage Grove.

The junior anchors include a 51,068-square-foot Academy Sports and Outdoors and 22,147-square-foot Burlington. A 40,000-square-foot EoS Fitness is expected to deliver in the first quarter of 2027. The center is now close to 95% pre-leased.

Arch-Con Corp. is the general contractor for multitenant retail construction and site work. AO is the architect. The center will also contain two multifamily communities and a medical office building.
