Anthropic Establishes Cambridge Presence with Kendall Square Lease
Artificial intelligence giant Anthropic is setting up shop in Cambridge. The San Francisco-based company has signed a lease for 24,000 square feet at One Kendall Square, the Boston Globe first reported.
In a statement, company president Daniela Amodei cited the region’s top life sciences researchers using Anthropic’s Claude to drive their own work, reported the Boston Business Journal. “Cambridge is a natural place for Anthropic to put down roots,” she said in a statement. “We’re excited to grow our team alongside the scientists, universities, and institutions tackling some of the world’s most important problems.”
Anthropic’s new office puts it on MIT’s doorstep and blocks from life sciences firms like AstraZeneca, Biogen and Takeda, each o in various stages of expansion in the neighborhood. It also gives the California-based company a local foothold similar to how other Bay Area tech companies have established themselves here, including Google, Meta and Microsoft, the Business Journal reported.
