Vivmark Merger Triggers $742M in Bay Area Apartment Acquisitions

The mega-merger of AvalonBay Communities and Equity Residential triggered the purchases of at least seven apartment complexes in the South Bay and East Bay, the Mercury News reported. Affiliates of Vivmark Residential have acquired properties with a combined 1,843 units in Mountain View, Fremont, Campbell, Union City and Dublin for a total of $741.8 million. 

The largest of the properties by unit count and price was Avalon Campbell at 508 Railway Ave. in Campbell, totaling 348 units and acquired for $147.3 million. Other properties included the following: 

  • Avalon Towers on the Peninsula at 2400 West El Camino Real in Mountain View, 238 units; $140.4-million sale price including an adjacent office building at 2440 El Camino. 
  • Avalon Fremont at 39939 Stevenson Common in Fremont; 308 units; $124.3 million. 
  • Eaves Creekside at 151 Calderon Ave. in Mountain View; 300 units; $117.3 million. 
  • Eaves Fremont at 231 Woodcreek Common in Fremont; 237 units; $88.9 million. 
  • Eaves Dublin at 7904 Fall Creek Rd. in Dublin; 204 units; $64.6 million. 
  • Eaves Union City at 2175 Decoto Rd.; 208 units; $59.1 million.
