$300M McKinney Music Venue to Open Early 2027

Venu Holdings has been working on the 20,000-seat amphitheater since last year, and expects it to be open for its first concert early next year. The Dallas Business Journal reports the parking garage is near completion, while the seating bowl and canopy are taking shape. The first show is expected to take place shortly after construction wraps up in the first quarter of 2027. Venu has not yet announced an opening act or a potential naming rights sponsor.

The $300 million facility is being built through a public-private partnership between Venu, the City of McKinney, the McKinney Economic Development Corp. and the McKinney Community Development Corp.

Venu has projects underway in Oklahoma, Houston and El Paso, with another facility planned in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The company, which operates venues in Colorado Springs, Colorado and Gainesville, Georgia, is also exploring an expansion into Northern Colorado.
