Vivmark Residential Launches with $70B Enterprise Value

Shares of Vivmark Residential were up Tuesday afternoon following the launch of trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the VMRK ticker. The merger of equals between Equity Residential and AvalonBay Communities, creating an apartment REIT with a market capitalization of $51 billion and an enterprise value of $70 billion, was finalized Monday.

“Our vision is to be the most trusted and best-performing rental housing company in America and one that gets better as it grows,” said Benjamin Schall, CEO of Vivmark. “Our wider management team of Vivmark officers is now fully in place, and we are ready to deliver a seamless Day 1 experience for our residents.”

In addition to Schall, the Vivmark executive team includes Michael Manelis as COO and Kevin O’Shea as CFO. The board includes seven trustees from each company and is led by chairman Stephen Sterrett. Vivmark is dual headquartered in Arlington, VA and Chicago.
