Former Microsoft Campus Near Costco HQ Targeted for Housing Conversion
Two vacant office buildings near Costco’s Issaquah headquarters could be converted into 262 apartments instead of corporate workspaces.
The empty properties are being targeted for residential reuse. Vintage Housing, a Newport Beach, California-based developer, is looking to convert 410,848 square feet of vacant Microsoft office space, according to a notice of application with the city of Issaquah. The proposal would repurpose two of the three buildings in the office park, now called The ParQ. The third building has been fully leased by Costco since 2014 and was acquired for $61.8 million in 2024. Microsoft vacated the buildings after its lease expired in 2023.
The landlord is an affiliate of Kennedy Wilson, the majority owner of Vintage Housing, reported the Puget Sound Business Journal. The 20-acre office park was developed by Vulcan Real Estate. CBRE has been marketing the two buildings for lease, and with the new redevelopment plan, the former corporate campus could transition into a residential community.
