30-Story Dual-Branded Austin Hotel on Way
The Smash ATX bar is slated for demolition. In its place…a dual-branded Hilton hotel. Peachtree and Merritt Development are joining forces on the project, which will be an Embassy Suites by Hilton and Tempo by Hilton hotel. The hotel is expected to have 480 rooms. The room breakout will consist of 184 Embassy Suites rooms and 296 Tempo rooms. Hotel Business reported that the development costs could exceed $250 million.
The hotel will include 7,700 square feet of flexible meeting space in a 30-story building. A prominent national restaurant operator will assume 10,000 square feet of 1st and 2nd floor space along with a rooftop bar and a lounge. TDLR Group is the architect.
The hotel is expected to be complete in the first quarter of 2029.
