Historic Miami Courthouse to be Auctioned Off
Miami-Dade County is auctioning off the iconic Historic Dade County Courthouse, located at 73 W. Flagler Street in the heart of Downtown Miami. Launching online from July 1 through July 31, 2026, the GovDeals.com auction will likely allow bidders the opportunity to reimagine one of the area’s legendary landmarks. The 28-story vacant courthouse, which is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places, was built in 1928.
Miami-Dade County is inviting developers, preservationists, and innovators to participate in a, adaptive redevelopment project that honors the building’s architectural legacy.
The County said it seeks proposals that celebrate the courthouse’s cultural significance, activate the urban core, and create opportunities to inspire and serve future generations in the region. Prospective developers could tap federal historic rehabilitation tax credits, local historic preservation incentives and ad valorem tax exemptions for historic properties
