El Tropicano Booking Rooms Before December Reopening

The historic Sitio El Tropicano Hotel in San Antonio is slated to reopen in December. The hotel owners, Trestle Studio, are accepting reservations for guests and events. Opened in 1962, the long-vacant hotel at 110 Lexington Ave is undergoing a $100 million makeover.

The 315-room urban resort was the first riverfront hotel on the San Antonio River Walk. Featuring San Antonio’s largest pool deck, Sítio is being touted as an urban resort and members’ club. A founding membership is priced at $12,500 as a one-time fee; other membership tiers start at $3,500. The private club will offer members-only spaces, a curated suite of programming and events, a dedicated bar and preferred rates for hotel rooms.

The first day available for booking is Dec. 15, starting at $236 per night.
