NXP Selling Current Austin Facility, Renting Smaller Area Property

NXP Semiconductors NV will soon begin preparing its new Northwest Austin plant as it attempts to sell its 155-acre Oak Hill campus.

After signing a full-campus, 225,000-square-foot lease at Champion Office Park in Northeast Austin earlier this year, NXP expects to move into its new home early next year. At the same time, NXP is advertising its longtime U.S. headquarters for sale. The Southwest Austin property is a 1.5-million-square-foot, 155-acre campus at 6501 William Cannon Blvd.

NXP, which makes tech used in a variety of sectors, including automotive, will embark on a full interior renovation of both buildings at Champion Office Park. The renovation is estimated to cost $30 million. Work is expected to wrap up next spring. The Oak Hill campus is being marketed by CBRE Inc.. It was built in 1984 for Freescale Semiconductor, which NXP acquired in 2015.
